Okay, so you have shows like Stargate or Sliders or whatever where the main characters go to some bizarre place. And everyone conveniently speaks English, right?
So I was thinking, what if they went somewhere, and everything about the language there was the same as English, but some completely random word like, I dunno, "fish" was the worst insult imaginable? So they'd be going along, and just talking and all of a sudden one of them starts talking about fish, and the people would get all offended. AND HILARITY ENSUES.
So, uh, why don't they ever do that, huh? Man, I should so totally be a writer for this show.
In other news, I've decided I'm possibly overusing the word "so."
